The animals
Every animal here is a permanent resident. None of them are for sale and none of them are going anywhere. Each one represents its species, and each one carries a story about the pet trade, habitat loss, disease, or the work of keeping a species alive in human care.
Every one of them has its own page: where it comes from, how long it lives, what threatens it in the wild, and what captive breeding actually does for it.
Reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, and why the third group matters
Reptiles
Lizards, snakes, tortoises and turtles. Scaled, ectothermic, and the animals most people are most wrong about.
Amphibians
Frogs, toads, salamanders and newts. Permeable skin, tied to water, and the group being hit hardest by disease worldwide.
Invertebrates
Tarantulas, scorpions and their relatives. Not insects. Arachnids have eight legs and two body sections, insects have six and three, and on a site about teaching people we would rather get that right.
Cover the care of one of them
Sponsorship pays for one animal's food, heating, veterinary care and enclosure for a year. You get its updates and its photos, and your name goes on its page.
It is the most direct way to help, and for a business it is the one that gets seen: your name sits on the page people actually read.
