Donor privacy
Charities trade donor lists more often than most donors realise, which is why a gift to one organisation can be followed by post from four others. We do not do that, and this page is the commitment rather than the intention.

What we commit to
- We do not sell, rent, trade, swap or share our donor list with any other organisation, for any reason.
- We do not share your details with another charity, a fundraising agency, a data broker or a mailing house.
- Your name appears publicly only if you have said it can.
- You can ask to be removed from any public list, or from all contact, at any time, and it will be done.
These apply whether you give money, materials, trade work or time.
What we collect from donors
Your name and contact details, what you gave, when, and anything you told us about how you would like to be recognised or contacted. If you sponsor an animal we also record which animal, so we can send you its updates.
Donations are processed by Zeffy, which handles the payment and issues your receipt. We do not see, store or have access to your full card number or bank details. Zeffy takes no cut, so the full amount reaches the zoo.
Being named publicly
We list supporters in two places: the supporters section of this website, and on the page of the specific animal a sponsor covers. Both are opt-in.
- If you have not told us it is fine, your name does not go up.
- You can be listed under a different name, a business name, or as anonymous.
- You can ask to be taken down later and we will remove it, without asking you why.
Individual gift amounts are not published next to names.
How we contact you
We will contact you about the thing you gave to: an animal you sponsor, an event you supported, or a receipt. If you would rather hear nothing beyond a receipt, say so and that is what will happen.
Every message we send has a way to stop it, and asking us directly always works.
Who else sees it
Donor records are held in the customer relationship system this organisation uses, and are accessible to the small number of people running the zoo. We do not give access to volunteers who do not need it, and we do not export donor lists to anybody outside the organisation.
If we are ever legally required to disclose something, we will comply, and we will tell you unless we are prohibited from doing so.
Grants and institutional funders
Foundations and corporate funders are sometimes named publicly as a condition of their own reporting, and we will agree that with you directly rather than assuming it either way.
Asking us anything
Write to [email protected] to see what we hold about you, correct it, be removed from a public list, change how we contact you, or be deleted entirely. There is no form and no process. Ask and it is done.
Tax status and receipts
Las Vegas Reptile Zoo is recognised by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organisation under EIN 33-2811809. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Your receipt will carry that number so you can file it without having to come back and look anything up.
We are not your tax adviser and this is not tax advice. If a gift is large enough for the treatment to matter to you, check with somebody who is.
Registration status and the determination letter
The determination letter itself, and our Nevada charitable solicitation registration status, will be published on the transparency page once both are confirmed.
